Cereal Butter Prawns 奶香麦片虾

I enjoy the fragrance of cereal prawn and always wanted to make this dish, but have no idea how to make it nice, after some survey from the Internet, I come out this improvisation.

Marinade

1 tsp of sugar

a dash of pepper

pinch of salt

Ingredients

1o medium size prawns

5 cups of plain instant Quaker’s oat.

1 piece ( small pack like those served on the plane) of butter or margarine

2 gloves of garlic ( chopped)

1 bird’s eye chili (chopped)

1 stalk of curry leaves

Direction

1.) Clean the prawns by slitting the back with a pair of scissors. Marinate the prawns for 30 mins.

2.) Heat up 2-3 cups of cooking oil (prefer to use a non-stick pan/wok), bring to boil and turn fire to medium. Fry the prawns until half cooked and the shell becomes crispy. Remove the prawns and place them on a kitchen paper.

3.) Melt the butter or margarine into the wok, sauté chopped garlic, chili and curry leaves until fragrant. add oat and stir-fry it with low heat for a while, then put in the prawns and toss the prawns with the oat.

4.) Dish out and serve.
