Restoran Makanan Laut Kwai Lam 桂林海鲜餐馆

I admit my progress has turned into slow moving mode lately. Not that I have not eaten any good food, it’s just that after a hard day work on the computer, I really wish to give a break from touching the keyboard.

Anyhow, I reset my target, at least 2 posts in a month, I hope I could make it!

Moon knows Kwai Lam more than 10 yrs through Jess. They used to go there for friends or family's reunion dinner. It's certainly an ideal place for gathering with all the big round table setting. When come to Kwai Lam, it has to be seafood. Yes, seafood!!! Despite its high cholesterol & poisonous feature (I’m not sure if it’s scientifically proven but most Chinese do believe the seafood with shell namely prawn and crab are harmful especially for those who suffer chronic skin problem like eczema & so on), we still find it mesmerizing! Being one of the Kwai Lam's signature dish, these "mass -produced" Nan Yue Chicken wings 南乳炸鸡翅膀 (MYR2.00 per piece) are always perfectly marinated and never fail to please. In fact, I can devour 3 pcs of chicken wings at one go. ;-P Steamed Prawns清蒸虾 with Shaoxing Wine 绍兴酒(MYR18.00 per 600gm ) used to be Moon's favorite but very unfortunate, these prawns were not cleaned properly and apparently turned Moon off altogether. I simply could not forget the taste of this creamy butter crab 奶油蟹 (MYR36.00). Apparently salted egg-yolk and curry lefts are added into the gravy for extra fragrance, It’s moist, salty and sinfully yummy with super duper high cholesterol content! ;-P However, to optimize the satisfaction derived from glutting my beloved crab, gotta convince myself to put aside the thought of guilt…If the sin of overdose is still haunting you around, 3 days of fasting definitely would make you feel purified as ever. Fried Hokkian Mee (MYR8.00 for 2 pax) is OK, the standard is still maintained. It's not bad to go with their special made sambal belacan.Fried veggie (MYR7.00) is definitely a must or else we will be branded as carnivores. ;-P Total bill came up MYR90.80, pretty reasonable I think.
