Seremban Restoran Yi Poh 姨婆老鼠粉

Restoran Yi Poh !!? Yeah bingo, this is the Yi Poh I mentioned before! Famous for what!!!?? The Yi Poh Lou Syu Fan 姨婆老鼠粉. Or it is better known as Silver Needle Noodle 银针粉 in Hong Kong as Lou Syu Fan sounds like Rodenticide, make people think it's poisonous.

The Lou Syu Fan served here is very different from what you used to have in KL, it's long and looks more like Lai Fan 濑粉 or Udon, topped with minced meat and char siu 叉烧 and flavoured with dark soya sauce. What else is good? How about a bowl of hot and spicy pork 's innards which comprise crunchy pork's intestine and chewy pork's stomach, hot, hot, hot!Last but not least, the meat ball that made of pork's tendon, nicer texture compared to the usual meat ball.

P/S:. Well, think my post on Yi Poh Lou Syu Fan published at bad timing. Since the outbreak of Swine Flu, I believe people will reduce consumption of pork. ;-( Anyway, if you are a porky fan, you can always pay there a visit after the outbreak is settled down. ;-)

3JC in Weng Hing 三间庄

Rectangular shape in juxtaposition is one unique feature of 3JC meatballs (三间庄猪肉丸). It’s such a famous trademark of pork-base meatball that a lot of other stalls in KL tend to imitate and brand themselves 3JC meatball sellers shamelessly. Near Moon’s house there is a stall selling pretty nice 3JC. Mother in law said the stall run by the founder’s sister and husband, so I presume it's genuine (Oh well, I'm not sure). All I know is when time passes, Moon’s family stops visiting it as they are getting discontented with the shrunken portion despite being priced up several times.

First time we stumbled upon 3JC outlet in Sunway Pyramid, we rubbed our eyes in disbelief. We even dragged my sister into checking it out at once. The noodle came with same clear soup. The meatballs however failed to please. it's lack of springiness, very much like a frozen product.

Up to today, I still think the stall in Weng Hing Imbi Road serves the best BJC Pork Noodle (三间庄猪肉粉).Bountiful 3JC meatballs, minced pork cooked with dark soy sauce, fried intestines and sprinkles of spring onion, SO LUSCIOUS.... The stall next to BJC also sells pork noodle, but it's different type of pork noodle that cooked with pork innards like liver, kidney and lard. Wing Heng is definitely the heaven for porky lover, haha!http://allfoodnet.com/?action-viewnews-itemid-1326

Pork Noodles at Restoran Hong Cha 猪肉粉

I am thinking to bring my sister and brother in-law to Restoran Hong Cha for dinner one of this day. Hong Cha is famous for pork & seafood noodles. I like to savour the broth that cooked with seafood, meat and pork liver, so sweet and so tasty! Stepping into the shop, you find pictures of tempura, maki, grilled salmon and others Japanese food, all these are the side dishes you may get to order here. When I first visited this shop, I was impressed to see the waitress keying in our order with a PDA. Really Hi-tech kopitiam!! ;-P

Talking about the choices here, my favour is still the dried pork noodle. The pork lard lying on the dried Lou Shee Fun (老鼠粉干捞)reminds me my gourmet idol Tsai san (蔡澜先生). He is a great fan of pork lard mixed rice. Ha, ha! For dried noodle, the soup served separately with much thicker savor. Pork Noodles Soup laden with mincemeat, pork liver, sliced pork, cabbage and shrimp
For side dish, grilled mackerel (saba yaki) is a safe choice!
The herba drinks that we like to order. Hong Cha situated along Jalan Hujan Rahmat 3, the 1st right turning immediately after the OUG BHP Patrol Station which is supposed to be on your right if you come from Old Klang Road.
